Dennis serves Gaskin Asset Management both as a Portfolio Strategist and Financial Advisor. He assists with the construction, design, and analysis of strategic portfolios. Responsible for strategic innovation and visionary efforts, Dennis strives to ensure that Gaskin Asset Management remains an evolving industry leader. His personal integrity, investment experience, and empathetic and approachable demeanor have quickly made him a trusted member of a close family team. Dennis works with the senior financial advisors to bring advisory solutions to business owners, investors, and their families in the greater Charlotte area.
Dennis graduated from North Carolina State University with a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration. Prior to joining Gaskin Asset Management, Dennis worked as a Trading Associate for Xanthus Capital Management, a long/short hedge fund in Charlotte. There, Dennis gained necessary and direct exposure to equity markets, option utilization, and extensive risk management. Dennis utilized innovative and strategic hedging techniques that targeted acute volatility and unusual market conditions. Dennis works with the senior portfolio managers to develop and monitor current and future investment strategies.
Dennis was born and raised in Charlotte and is a lifelong member of Myers Park Presbyterian Church. He has a great love for this city, the outdoors and an active lifestyle. He has seen Charlotte evolve into a diverse and innovative community both in culture and business. Dennis lives with a sense of gratitude and responsibility and views his work as an opportunity to serve the people of Charlotte and its surrounding communities. Dennis enjoys the opportunity to travel, spending summers at a lake in Michigan with his family, backpacking across Germany as a teenager, and traveling across the country to eight national parks after college. He grew up playing multiple competitive and recreational sports, and continues to maintain an active lifestyle. One of Dennis’ goals is to create an organization in Charlotte using exercise to jumpstart fitness and vitality for individuals who are experiencing homelessness.
Dennis has big dreams both personally and professionally and Gaskin Asset Management is fortunate to have his enthusiasm, creativity and diligence on the team.
